I stole the idea for those little brown panel doodles from Moebius’ second Arzach story, Harzak. I liked adding random details to fill in the page without having to think about it too much, and it also let me warm up on the page.
I also tried using black space, Moebius’ wall of hatching, and woven hatching. I wanted to find a way to detail the page without having to think too much about it because I think it gives it a randomness and fluidity my work lacks.
Once again, I think I totally biffed it on the colouring. I’m pretty happy with the application now, it’s the colour theory that still drives me nuts. Those green floors just didn’t work out how I had hoped…
